Walleye Fishing – Get Your Rain Gear Out

Everyone enjoys a beautiful day on the lake with plenty of sunshine but I had been patiently waiting for a day like this. Overcast with a light drizzle has always been a good time to Walleye fish and this day was no different. We put a total of twenty Walleye in the boat with several nice keepers. Summer Walleye stay close to structure whether it be rocks, pillars, or weed lines. The lake we were fishing has a lot of weeds and depth changes. Our success came on heavy weed lines next to gradual drop offs. Bouncing Crawlers along the weed line was our method of choice. Fishing like this requires a lot of time and patience. You will spend a good portion of the day untangling weeds from your line but in the summer it can be the difference between fishing and catching.
