When it comes to fishing, a lot of people only fish on the weekends whether it be because of work, kids, or just life in general. While I completely understand and struggle with it myself, the last twenty minutes of daylight can be worth the trip.
So after work, Riley and I made a mad dash to a lake thirty minutes away. We knew it was going to be cutting it close but we got there just in time for the bite. It wasn’t ten minutes until we hooked into the first fish… and for the next fifteen minutes the fish were in a feeding frenzy!
Just like most evening trips, it got dark and the bite shut off just as fast as it started. In twenty-five minutes we both had ten fish apiece.
So the next time you feel like hitting the ice but only have a few minutes, give it a try! I enjoy sitting on the ice for extended periods of time but if you want some fast-paced fishing, try the evening bite.
